I have signed up for a Shootout Competition over at Pill Hill Press, with a few of my good friends and writer buddies, Lorraine Horrell, Emma Ennis, and Charles Day. There is also another seven writers taking part, some of them I know, but haven't had the pleasure of getting to know yet, and some I don't.
The Shootout rules are:
All 11 of us get a Prompt (the same prompt) and have 1 week to write a story up to 3,000 words based on that prompt. All 11 stories will be put on Pill Hill's forum anonymously, and we 11 writers have one week to read and rate the stories.
That was one round, and so the competition continues for 4 rounds. After all the rounds have been completed, the scores are tallied up, and whoever has the most points wins a bag full of goodies from Pill Hill.
I'm really excited about this, it should be a lot of fun, and also a learning curve. It'll also be great getting feedback on my work from another ten writers.
Goodluck to all, can't wait to start. And have a blast everyone..:)

2010 Review:
I have been writing now for a little over two years. But, 2010 has been the year that's really got my writing career up and running.
Here is a rundown of my year:
91 Stories Submitted.
56 Stories Accepted.
35 Stories Rejected.
23 of those Rejections have turned into Acceptances when I sent them to a different publisher/editor, some with a little tweaking.
3 Stories I am still waiting to hear back from.
1 is Shortlisted.
1 Will be appearing in "A Wicked Bag of Tales," by Wicked East Press.
I got my first story accepted on the 4th of August, by Jessica A. Weiss, for "A Cup of Joe." Jessica was extremely nice to me and gave me a second chance after I messed up the submission guidelines. So a big THANK YOU to Jessica for being the first person to accept one of my stories, I'll never forget it!
Since then I've had stories accepted by Pill Hill Press, Static Movement, Living Dead Press, and Norgus Press. I also want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone there, without them i wouldn't have anything to write here, so Thank You!
Really, you could say that most of my success has been in the last 5 months. Either way, 2010 has been a great start to my publishing career. I just hope 2011 can bring as much success, if not more.
Happy New Year everyone, I hope it's kind to us all.
